Hori.Inc boards come in three sizes: a 40cm small lazy Susan, a 46cm medium lazy Susan and 60cm platters. The Engraved Mirror and Mirror Pasifika are 80cm round. The right one depends on your table, your wall and what you'll put on it.
Here's what each size means in real life, how to test it at home before you order, and how the letter limits work on an Ingoa name board.

Should I get a lazy Susan or a platter?
They do different jobs. A lazy Susan spins, so everyone around the table can reach what's on it without passing plates. A platter is a bigger, flat serving surface for the main spread.
The 40cm Small Lazy Susan
The small lazy Susan suits sauces, sides and smaller tables. It comes in 13 designs, in kōwhaiwhai resin colour (blue, green, gold, maroon or pāua) or hand-painted Pasifika pattern.
The 46cm Medium Lazy Susan
The 46cm medium comes with a blue or brown centre and gives you more room for shared dishes in the middle of a table where people sit all the way around. When you measure, remember it needs room to turn: whatever sits on it sweeps around in a 46cm circle, so keep glasses and bottles back from the edge.
The 60cm platters
The Kōwhaiwhai and Pasifika platters are 60cm across. That's 14cm wider than the medium lazy Susan, and it's the one for a full spread: a grazing board, a whole roast, a birthday table. Choose with handles if you'll carry it from the bench to the table often.
A 60cm platter on a 90cm-wide table leaves 15cm on each side. On a 100cm-wide table it leaves 20cm each side. That's worth knowing before you set the table with plates and glasses as well.
Try it before you buy it
Cut a circle out of newspaper or cardboard at the real size: 40cm or 46cm for a lazy Susan, 60cm for a platter. Put it on your table, set a couple of places around it, and see how it feels. It takes five minutes and it beats guessing.
Can I have both?
Yes, and plenty of tables suit both. The platter carries the main spread. The lazy Susan carries everything people keep asking to be passed.
Is an 80cm mirror too big for my wall?
80cm is a statement. Here's how to check it fits.
- Measure the wall width. Leave clear space either side so the mirror doesn't look squeezed. A narrow hallway wall feels very different to a wall above a sideboard.
- Check what's underneath. Above a hall table, sideboard or basin, a mirror usually looks best a little narrower than the furniture below it.
- Do the tape test. Mark an 80cm circle, or the 80cm square it would sit inside, on the wall with painter's tape. Live with it for a day.
The Engraved Mirror comes in six designs, each placing the hand-engraved pattern differently around the glass. Think about which part of the mirror will be at eye level once it's up.
Can mirrors be posted?
No. Mirrors can't be posted, so they're pick-up only, by arrangement. Before you collect, check that an 80cm circle fits in your boot or across your back seat. Measure the opening, not just the space inside.
How many letters fit on an Ingoa name board?
Two lettering sizes, two limits. Spaces and punctuation count towards the limit.
- Large, 9cm lettering: up to 7 letters. Bolder from across the room.
- Small, 6cm lettering: up to 10 letters. Fits a longer name.
| Word | Count | Large (max 7) | Small (max 10) |
|---|---|---|---|
| AROHA | 5 | Fits | Fits |
| WHĀNAU | 6 | Fits | Fits |
| OFA ATU | 7 (6 letters + 1 space) | Fits, right on the limit | Fits |
| THOMPSON | 8 | Too long | Fits |
| WILLIAMSON | 10 | Too long | Fits, right on the limit |
| THE WILLIAMSONS | 15 (14 letters + 1 space) | Too long | Too long |
If your name is too long, drop the extras ("WILLIAMSON" fits where "THE WILLIAMSONS" doesn't), choose a word that matters instead, or ask about a custom piece and we'll quote it.
